Its structures and directions are different from those of others. Generally speaking, most of the drum-towers face north and south, but Fengyang drum-tower faces east and west. The drum-tower consists of two parts, namely, the base and the temple tower. In the very middle of the base are three gateways, and the biggest one is the middle gateway, and some Chinese characters in regular script are on the middle gateway written by Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of Ming Dynasty.
