Brief introduction of the city:
Huainan City is located in the hinterland of east China and along the bank of Huai River. It is an important city in the north central part of Anhui Province. Huainan has a long history. The finding of the fossil “Huainan Insect” more than 800 million years removed from modern times pushes more than 200 million years ahead of the statement that origin of life is less than 600 million years. The fossil tooth of anthropoid apes more than 300 million years removed from modern times is the earliest in Asia. The “Bagongshan Geological Park” within the borders has rich geological connotations and relics from time immemorial, which have relatively high value in scientific research and ornamental aesthetics. Huainan has profound cultural foundation. There are a large number of scenic resorts and historic site in Huainan, including the “five gus (ancients)” commended by archaeologists home and abroad (namely, ancient battlefield, ancient tombs, ancient Shouzhou kilns, ancient Maoxian cave and ancient fossil organism). The Battle on Fei River is a famous specific example of a battle in the military history in which the less and weaker defeated the much and stronger. The flower drum lamp in the Huai River basin is reputed as “oriental ballet”.
