Early in Han (206BC-220AD) and Tang Dynasty (618-907), Ankang people started growing mulberry and being engaged in sericulture and the “Silk Road” came into being thereafter. Nowadays, Ankang has become the largest silk export base of Shannxi. The mousseline fabric which has long been called “Queen of Fabric” has special health-care functions to the human body.
