According to the legend, cornel was found by the Chinese medicine king Sunsimiao. The cornel fruit, as big as a wild jujube, tasting a bit sour is crimson. The fruit is usually got in every November and it can be dried to store or eaten fresh. The pulp of the fruit is rare medicinal herbs of mild characteristic because it can cure aching and limp, impotence, dizziness, tinnitus, edema as well as spermatorrhea (caused by weakness),peeing too often, abnormal sweating due to general debility, too much monthly bleeding for a lady and metrorrhagia.

Cornel Wine, a kind of light wine which tastes sweet, looking orange-red and hyaline, is made of pulp of wild cornel produced on the Tiabai Mountain. Drinking the wine can tonic the liver and nourish kidney as well as strengthen the qi and blood. In all, this kind of wine not only tastes nice but also can preserve people’s health.
