Beihai Weather
Belonging to a subtropical marine monsoon climate, Beihai enjoys mild weather all the year round with enough sunshine and abundant rainfall. There in no severe coldness in winter and no extremely hot summer as well. In spring, it rains a lot with much humidity and less sunshine. While in summer, it is a little hotter with occasionally heavy rains and abrupt changes of weather. When autumn comes, the rainfall reduces too. The sky in autumn is high and the air brisk. In winter, the temperature is rather low, and it rains less. The temperature drops greatly with frequent strong north wind. Winter is the coldest and the driest season of the year, with occasional frost and low temperature.
Tips:
(1). It is better to go swimming in the later afternoon when the beach is bustling with noise and excitement and you can have a glimpse of beautiful sunset clouds as well.
(2). Generally speaking, the weather of Beihai is fairly agreeable. There are a great many sunny days with azure sky, while the annual average temperature is 24.6℃. Therefore, Beihai is an ideal place to have leisure and take a coastal vocation. The best tourist season extends from April to November.
(3). Beihai has a short winter (from December to February) and a long summer (from May to November), both spring and autumn short and not distinct. Due to a long duration of sunshine, it is even warm in winter; it is not surprising to see people wearing shirt or skirt sometimes during this cold season. It is a little bit hot in summer (at least outside the room), but it is cool in the shadow of trees or at night.
(4). There is no difference for people to dress themselves from other cities’ citizens in summer. If you want to spend your time on the beach, you are supposed to prepare sun hat, sunglasses, T-shirt, beach pants and slippers. Enjoy yourself on the beach or in the sea and don’t forget to apply sun cream. In winter you don’t need to wear cotton clothes but for a sudden drop of temperature to 6-7℃. Generally speaking, there is no heating system in most hotels.
