Sun Island is the only natural island in Shanghai nestled in lush greeneries along the upstream of Huangpu River. With the size of 4,000 meters long and just 700 meters wide, this popular tourist destination is relatively small. However, it offers complete amenities and different activities designed for tourists of all ages. Aside from providing excellent accommodation, it also features amazing golf courses and natural spring spas.

Sun Island used to be called Mao Island during Western Zhou Dynasty.  In here, you’ll find ancient lighthouse called Mao Pagoda built more than 1,200 years ago. It is open for guests free of charge.

Very large with lots of trees, lawns and activities. Lots of couples come here to shoot their wedding photographs. There is a stadium near the east gate where you can play bal games.

Chaoyang Park is more like fun fair than a park. There is a bunch of attractions, you can go boating on the lake, or just have a ice-cream in the sun, but if you expect the green and calm of a regular park you will be disappointed. It is a large place though, and I have only seen parts of it, but still it seems to have more to do with family fun than anything else. But as such it is probably worth a visit.
