Poly Theater, own by Poly Culture and Art Co. Ltd., is favorably located in central Beijing. Since its opening in 1991, the theater has already successfully staged 3, 000 performances of various kinds by over 300 artistic troupes. Poly Theater is widely recognized as the most luxurious theater in Beijing. The theater now consists of 1,428 seats, 8 balcony boxes, and 2 VIP boxes. Both the audio and lighting systems have adopted the world's top facilities, enabling the theater to meet the various needs of different artistic companies. Renowned artistic companies from the Arena di Verona in Italy, China Philharmonic Orchestra, China Central Symphony Orchestra, China Central Opera Theater, China Central Ballet, etc, have brought operas like Massenet's Werther, Veridi's La Traviata, Tosca and Nabbuco, and ballets such as Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker (Chinese version) and Raise the Red Lantern to the Poly Theater. World-famous conductors like Christopher Penderecki, Vladimir Ashkenazy, pianists Martha Argerich, Fu Cong,Li Yundi, etc. have all performed at the theater.
