Beijing Buddhist Praying Ceremony, also known as “good wish day”, is the important festival of Tibetan Buddhism. The Buddhist Praying Ceremony was firstly held in Lhasa , in memory of Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism. The praying ceremony has been held annually and spread to Beijing afterwards. Since then, the Buddhist Praying Ceremony has been held in Yonghe Lamasery of Beijing from March 9 to March 16 every year. Besides chanting sutras, from March 15 to March 16, there is the famous Exorcisms Dance with the keynote of Tibetan folk dance, in order to dispel evil and pray for good luck.
