Beijing International Culture Tourism Festival, hosted by both Beijing municipal government and National Tourism Administration, is usually held from September 20 to 30 in Beijing annually. It is celebrated as “the carnival with Chinese characteristic festival”, with a number of foreign countries participating. Since 1998, it has been successfully held for many sessions.

Beijing International Culture Tourism Festival boasts various kinds of cultural activities and grand ceremonies, including the dances with rich folk customs and Full-dress Parade which is the most famous performance of the festival. Performers from many countries who are in splendid attire will parade together in many areas of Beijing, including Beijing Historical and Cultural Section, CBD Business District and Hi-tech Industrial Zone. With different themes, the parade propagandizes the old history, culture and the brand-new appearance of the modern Beijing City. Besides, the excellent troupes from home and abroad will go to participate in the carnival, providing a variety of featured performances. The annual International Culture Tourism Festival has become a prosperous human landscape and an “urban calling card” of Beijing gradually, contributing to promoting international exchange and communication between China and other countries.
