Beijing Red Leaves Festival is usually held in Fragrant Hill Park from Oct. 15 to Nov. 7 in Beijing every year. The Fragrant Hill Park is the famous forest park in Beijing, with an area of 160 hectares. During the beautiful autumn, the leaves of the maple trees all over the Fragrant Hill turn bright red, forming an ocean of red leaves. Besides the breathtaking natural scenery, a variety of activities are also held there, such as tea-making performance, photograph competition, ancient costume show and the exhibition of four “treasures of study” (writing brush, ink, ink stone and paper). Every year, during the festival, there are huge crowds of tourists go to Fragrant Hill Park to gladden the heart and please the eye.
Fragrant Hill Park also boasts a variety of historical sites, including ancient Bi Yun (Green Cloud) Temple whose architecture features the style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Xian gshan Temple which is also the best place for viewing the red leaves and the Memorial Hall of Doctor Sun Yat-sen who was the Chinese politician and statesman. Thus, it’s a good choice to travel to Fragrant Hill Park to enjoy the unique natural scenery in the golden autumn.

From central Beijing, take any of the following municipal buses directly to the park: 318, 331, 360, 714, 733, 737, and 834.
