Bird's Nest Snow Festival

The Bird's Nest, formerly known as the National Stadium of China, hosts a snow festival from December 19th to February 20th, 2010. The largest indoor skiing center in Beijing has been built in the Bird’s Nest. There are a lot of exciting activities for tourists to take part in, such as skiing and snowboarding. An artificial ice mountain has been built and serves as a stage for performances.

During the festival, the stadium provides 14 raceways, 500 snow loops, 500 snowboards and three snow motorbikes. Tourists can pay to have a try on those snow activities. Subway Line 8 can take tourists to the Olympic Sports Center Station or the Olympic Green Station, where the Bird's Nest is located.

The Second Ice and Snow Festival was opened in Bird's Nest on December 18th, 2010 with the theme of participation, recreation and appreciation. It covers a total area of 570,000 square meters, including the main activity venue and the warm-up venue. There are a large number of various events and activities, including Snow Cartoon Castle, Kingdom of Snowman, Snowball Throwing, Snow Maze, Slope for Children, Out to Win, Skating, Magic Cube, Driving a dodgem on the ice, Snow Loop Square, Chocolate House, Mine warfare on Snow, The Cage Soccer on the snow, Snow Tubing, Free Skiing, Mini park, Curling and snowmobiling.

Cartoon Snow Castle, covering an area of about 1,000 square meters, is the landmark building of the main venue, providing entertainment facilities and performances.

Ice-snow card:

The entertainment events and food service as well as shopping are settled accounts with the ice-snow card. Cash is not acceptable. Thus tourists had better transact a card before entering.
