Baikui Laohao Restaurant (Chinese: 白魁老号) is one of the most well-known Muslim restaurants in Beijing , featuring unique flavored mutton. In 1780, a Muslim named Baikui opened a small mutton restaurant in Dongcheng District, near Fulong Temple, built in the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). Gradually he created a unique way to braise and deep-fry mutton. The restaurant carefully selects and uses certain parts of sheep. Their condiment for mutton is also their creation.
