Jinsi Jujube, Binzhou

Jinsi Jujube has a unique color and luster. It is small in size but rich in nutrition. Jinsi Jujube not only tastes sweet but has high medical value. It is reputed as “the guiding drug for over 100 medicines”. The most famous book on medicine Ben Cao Gang Mu (written by Li Shizhen, a very successful doctor on herbs in ancient times) also pointed out that Jinsi Jujube had good tonic function. Since long silk of pulp in golden color can be drawn out when it is ripe, it gains the name Jinsi Jujube (Jinsi in Chinese means golden silk).
