Drawn work, Chaozhou

It is the outcome of Chaozhou embroidery and European drawn work, which enjoys a history of several hundred years and it has been praised as “the famous flower of Southern part of the country” for its exquisite skill, slimness and quiet elegance. The feature is that Chaozhou drawn work takes out some wraps from cloth according to certain designs and stitches the opening then embroiders decorative patterns. It produces a variety of patterns through more than 400 types of ingenious needle techniques and complex and delicate designs. It mainly manufactures towels, tablecloths, embroidered clothes, bedcovers, quilt covers and pillowcases, back cushions, and tableware covers etc. these products are sold to America, Japan, Italy and Australia, etc. Many products were repeatedly given to foreign guest as national gifts.
