During the Ming dynasty, there were already workshops producing jade articles. Jade carving,taking southern jaspers as main raw material as well as Xiuyu of Liaoning, Duyu of Henan and Canadian jaspers. These products are simple, unsophisticated and elegant, mainly involving jewelries, figures, bonsais, stoves, bottles, tea and wine things, and bowl etc, which are very popular among compatriots of Hong Kong and Macau and overseas ones of Southeast Asia and also sells well in domestic tourism market.
