Take your time out for a one day experience to Daxu Ancient Town, which was founded in the Qin Dynasty (about 2,000 years ago). You will be amazed at the beauty of antiquated constructions in the town.
What You Can Expect
As one of the four famous old towns in the Guangxi Province, Daxu Ancient Town was founded in the Qin Dynasty. Located on the bank of the middle Li River, villigers there have a traditional life style. They guard their home and keep simple.
On arrival, you will instantly be attracted by the dramatic preserved buildings. Antiquated constructions stand in the town, especially along Bluestone Street. They were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Some constructions have beautiful facades and some hide their beauty behind walls in the form of courtyards or private quarters. Many old wooden residences, shops, and stalls are still in business.
13 old docks are the main sights of Daxu and were used for loading and offloading precious goods during the Ming Dynasty. Some of them remain in use until today.
Enjoy a fine lunch at a local restaurant and return to the Guilin afterwards.
