About China Intercontinental Hotels

The Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts is a part of the Intercontinental Hotels Group. It was once owned by the Pan American World Airways and was founded in April 1946. The first hotel was built in Brazil. The accommodation was primarily meant for the luxury travelers of the airline. As the airline company expanded, they built more of the hotels in their new destinations. Through a series of mergers and divisions, the hotel brand was then retained by the IHG. As much as possible, the brand tries to maintain a steady number of hotels in various parts of the world. Thus, there are around 130 Intercontinental hotels, 31 of which are found in Europe and about 50 are in the Asia Pacific, including China. The Intercontinental hotels in China are found in Shanghai Pudong, Beijing Financial Street, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Chongqing. The Intercontinental Hotel has great offers to all their guests, such as the Ambassador Program, which enhances the overall traveler experience. The program member can take advantage of easy room upgrade, fresh fruit upon arrival, daily mineral water supply in the room, in-room gift, and more affordable stay by charging only a single-room rate for a double occupancy. Guests can also enjoy late checkout up to 4:00 p.m., exclusive check-in area, complimentary daily newspaper, and instant checkout. They can also redeem other exclusive rewards and are immediately regarded as Elite in IHG loyalty program. All China hotels also have their own chief concierge, who can take care of most of the needs, especially information about the local area. The accommodation also provides the best-price guarantee in every reservation. The Intercontinental Hotel tries to make itself more reachable by developing apps such as Concierge Insiders Guide for the iPad and Kitchen Cookbook. There’s also an interactive floor plan for the various business and conference halls.
