About China Sheraton Hotels

Sheraton Hotels and Resorts is one of the biggest and most popular signature accommodation brands of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. The very first hotel was owned by Robert Moore and Ernest Henderson who bought the independent Stonehaven Hotel in Massachusetts sometime in 1937. The second hotel, on the other hand, was called Sheraton. For a practical reason, they decided to retain the name and used it all throughout the other hotels under the brand. Before the 1950s Sheraton already spread to other countries, starting with Canada. In 1985, it started operating in China as one of the first foreign companies to do so. Today there are hundreds of Sheratons all around the globe and have started to create a related brand in South Korea. In China, Sheraton comes in two types: resorts and hotels. There’s Sheraton Changbaishan Resort in Fusong County. Bailuhu Resort in Huizhou and Beijing West Mountain Resort are expected to open in 2016. They boast of a private beach and immense outdoor swimming pools. Guests are treated to villa-type accommodation options. For those who wish to stay in more urban areas can choose Beijing Dongcheng Hotel and Great Wall Sheraton, which was the first Sheraton in the country. Despite being old, the design is timely with the incorporation of glass in the exteriors, large banquet halls and conference rooms, and units equipped with more modern furnishing. They are also very accessible to the road and are situated in the populous areas of the city. New Sheraton hotels are expected to open very soon. Guests can make use of their loyalty rewards card, Starwood Preferred Guest, in all Sheraton accommodations, both hotels and resorts. Sheraton also offers new experiences such as the Link@Sheraton, which aims the guests to virtually connect with their loved ones and businesses more conveniently through complimentary Internet connection and business facilities, as well as the Sweet Sleeper Bed, which has become a favorite among guests because of its high level of comfort and warmth.
