Jing Guan Ming Lou Holiday Hotel is one of the most understated accommodation options with Guilin. Unlike most hotels in the area, this one is small, with roughly 5 stories. There’s no lift and in-house restaurant. The business facilities are basic. However, guests are already flocking here for it offers something else and unique: view of the lakes no matter where you stay, a night market that goes on until 2:00 a.m., accessibility to the railway station and the international airport, and the myriad of calligraphy and artifact found right inside the hotel.

Rooms
The hotel is less than 7 stories, which explains the scarcity of rooms. There are only 21 of them. However, they are spacious with an equally huge and comfortable bed. There’s hardly any toiletry, but small shops are abundant outside. To stay true to its heritage feel, the rooms are adorned with very interesting pieces and feature a Chinese-style interior design including a hard bed, which is very popular in the country. The best part of the hotel is the beautiful views outside the window, including the lake and nearby market.

Features
The hotel itself is worth noting. As its name suggests, it appears to be a small version of the Chinese museums with plenty of artifacts adorning the lobby and other sections. The trained staff are also fluent English speakers, so they are able to provide better-quality customer service to their foreign guests. The hotel is very close to the night market, for anyone who likes to bargain shop. The hotel doesn’t have any restaurant, but there are plenty of accessible eateries all around it.

Transport
The hotel is less than 40 minutes far from the international airport. Guests normally traverse the airport expressway and pass through one partial toll road, then onto Implicit Road, Xishan Road, and Ronghu South Road. The Guilin Railway Station is around 6 minutes by car and is accessed by heading east in Ronghu South Road and onto Five American Road.
