Overview: Beijing, Shanghai and Xian form the trifecta of China’s Golden Triangle of cities. During this 8 day tour, you will get to know some of the country’s most attractive sites including of course the Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Xian.

Day 1

Shanghai Arrival (Flight not Included)

Destinations & activities: Hotel - airport transfer

A smart choice to set Shanghai as the first destination for your China tour. Upon arrival, our China travel guide will meet you up at the airport. On the way to hotel, Shanghai will be introduced to you.

    Day 2

    Shanghai

    Destinations & activities: Oriental Pearl TV Tower (with Shanghai History Museum inside), Yuyuan Garden, The Bund, a silk factory

    Oriental Pearl TV Tower is our first stop. Inside the tower, Shanghai History Museum, also known as the old Shanghai Wax Museum, offers an informative visit with its waxwork display.Have lunch in a famous  restaurant.

    Then will visit Yuyuan Garden, a classical private garden in the style of Southern China. Stop at Jiangnan Silk Factory to learn how silk is made. Take a walk along the Bund.

    Day 3

    Shanghai to Xi'an (By Flight No.TBA)

    Destinations & activities: Hotel - airport transfer, dumpling-making class, Gao's Grand Coutyard (including a shadow puppet show) and free time in Xi'an

    Have some free time before flight to Xi'an. Check in hotel upon arrival. For lunch, you will first learn how to make dumplings and enjoy your labor work.

    After lunch, you will get another treat for the eye: as we visit the Gao's Grand Courtyard, you will have a chance to watch an excellent shadow puppet show. Afterwards, feel free to explore the city on your own.

  • Also known as Folk Art Museum, Gao's Grand Courtyard offers more than historical ruins, shadow puppet show is one of the best in the country.
  • Solo adventure to the Muslim Quarter always rewards you back with yummy food and cultural surprises, just right behind the Gao's Grand Courtyard.

    Xi'an to Beijing (By Overnight Train No.Z20)

    Destinations & activities: Train station - hotel Transfer, Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a handicraft center

    After breakfast, you will visit the wonder of ancient China: Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Have lunch in a Sichuan restaurant nearby before a walk at a handicraft center.

    In the afternoon, you will be back to Xi'an downtown, waiting is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the biggest and most important Buddhism temples in China.

    At night, you will board on a train to Beijing.

     

    Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at A Wa Shan Zhai Restaurant

    Day 5

    Beijing

    Destinations & activities: Train station - hotel transfer, hutong visit, learn to cut paper in a local family, a pearl store

    Arrive in Beijing in the morning. After some simple breakfast and short rest. You will get into a Hutong. Have lunch in a courtyard restaurant.

    A piece of paper, next second, it is a bunny! No magic, just some paper-cutting skill, which you will get to learn in a local family. A stop at a famous pearl store will end up today's tour.

    Beijing

    Destinations & activities: Temple of Heaven, Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall, Bird's Nest and Water Cube, a cloisonné factory

    In morning, we will drive up to the Great Wall at Mutianyu Section, where you will take a round-way cable car ride. Visit a local cloisonné store before lunch.

    In the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Heaven, where Chinese emperors used to worship God with their sacrifices. Later, take a free walk outside the Bird's Nest and Water Cube.

  • We arrange an exterior visit outside the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Extra cost for the ticket to enter the stadiums will apply.

    Beijing

    Destinations & activities: Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, free time in Beijing

    Embrace Beijing's morning along with thousands of locals on the Tian'anmen Square. Later, get into the Forbidden City. Also known as the Royal Palace Museum or Gugong Museum, here is the place to replay China's long royal history.Have lunch.

    In the afternoon, you will have some solo adventure in Beijing.Choose one of two activities from our suggestions, ask your guide for tips.

     

    - Smart Tips:

  • Beijing Zoo is an all-time favorite for both kids and adults.
  • The Drum Tower still keeps drumming every hour from 9:30am to 4:30pm (except 12:30pm), 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am etc. Aside the drumming show, the tower offers great view of how everything in Beijing is aligned with the Forbidden City.
  • A boat trip on Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace is essential for a relaxing China holiday. Or a less-crowded choice, go to the Old Summer Palace near it.
  • If you like kicking, we'd suggest a splendid Kungfu Show at Red Theatre. Ask your guide's help for booking and direction.
