7-Day Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou Highlight Tour

Today you will arrive in Beijing Capital International Airport, where your Beijing tour guide will pick you up. You will learn something briefly about Beijing on the way to hotel for check-in.

Numerous motion pictures have been filmed of the bustling scenery on Tian'anmen Square, but today you will be a part of the set. Later, get into the world-famous Forbidden City. You will visit the Palace of Heavenly Purity, Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Mental Cultivation and Royal Garden inside the Forbidden City. A few legs away, you can get to the Treasure House and Clocks and Watches House, storing all the precious pieces dating back to the Ming and Qing Dynasty.

At noon, you will try something hot at a hot pot restaurant. Afterwards, you will learn how to spot fake pearls in an old pearl store.

The rest of today will be free on your solo adventure.

Enjoy your fresh coffee in the sunshine of Beijing. Later, you will visit the Temple of Heaven. Here, you will approach the beautiful Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests via the Danbi Bridge.

Slightly farther than other sections of the Great Wall, Mutianyu Section is significantly less crowded. One can even see the desert of Mongolia in the distance during a clear day.

At noon, a farm-house-style restaurant prepares a good meal for you. Later, pay a brief visit at a cloisonné factory to see how the clay turns into a bowl.

Driving back downtown Beijing takes about 2 hours, relax en route. Have some free time in the city.

At noon, you will be on the high speed train heading to Shanghai. Arrive in the evening, check in hotel.

Explore Shanghai in different angles. Today you will firstly walk down Shanghai's icon: The Bund. Later, get a bird's eye view at the top of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Shanghai History Museum inside the tower. Have lunch in a nice restaurant serving authentic Shanghai food.

Learn how the silk is processed in a famous silk store. Later, your Shanghai tour guide will walk you through the history and standing of the Former French Concession. Take a turn and enter Tianzifang and shopping paradise Xintiandi.

This morning, your Shanghai tour guide will escort you to Suzhou. The ride takes about 1 hour.

As we arrive in Suzhou, one of the most beautiful Suzhou-style gardens will open up to you: Humble Administrator's Garden. The old garden dates back to the 16th century and now holds flower and bonsai exhibitions occasionally. Later, step into a smaller but still exquisite enough garden: Lingering Garden. Have lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, a rickshaw ride through the city would be quite relaxing. Later, get to the Panmen Gate, which is not literally a gate but more of a a small fortress that was used to seal off the canel to control the boats entering the city.

Back in Shanghai, you already knew how the silk is processed. Now at an embroidery institute in Suzhou, you can see artists hand-stitching beautiful art works.

At the evening, you will be back to Shanghai.
