2-Day Beijing - Xi'an Highlights Tour

Destinations & activities: Jinshanling Great Wall, Gubeikou Great Wall (4.5-5 hours over 8 kilometers/5 miles hiking)

In the morning around 10 a.m., our Beijing representative and guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the Jinshanling Great Wall section. This trip takes about 1.5-2 hours depending on the city’s traffic. A freshly prepared and healthy lunch will be waiting for you upon arrival at Jinshanling Great Wall. Enjoy the atmosphere of the Duan’s residence, a family-style hotel & restaurant owned by the photographer Mr. Duan.
After dining and letting the foods settle for a bit, we will start hiking up the Jinshanling Great Wall towards the Gubeikou Great Wall. This section of the wall was chosen for our hikes because it offers some of the most impressive and dramatic landscapes of the valleys below.
On arrival, we will set up our camp for the night*. At night, you will hear nothing but the silence in this remote area of northern China, and the complete darkness reveals a blanket of twinkling stars across the sky. Enjoy the company of your fellow hikers, or have some time on your own to appreciate the Great Wall’s age old history. A simple picnic dinner will be available to help you regain your energy for the following day.

Destinations & activities: Jiankou Great Wall, Mutianyu slide (one way), Mutianyu Great Wall (4-5.5 hours over 10 kilometers/6 miles hiking)

First thing in the morning, you will be blessed with a wonderful sunrise seen from one of the Great Wall’s famous watchtowers. After a simple and filling breakfast, descend the wall and continue your journey towards the Jiankou Great Wall, the most ruggedly attractive section. This trip takes about 2-2.5 hours.
Arriving from your transfer to Jiankou, you will hike towards the Mutianyu Great Wall. On the way, enjoy an on-site lunch where you can take in both delicious food as well as the expansive natural landscape. The walk takes 4-5.5 hours depending on your page.
A surprise will await you when you arrive at the Mutianyu Great Wall! Delight yourself with a ride down Mutianyu’s popular metal toboggan slide* down where you will take your private car and driver back to Beijing. Dream of your Great Wall memories all the way back!
