Day by Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Beijing Arrival (Flight not Included)

Destinations & activities: Airport transfer

Welcome to China! Your China photography tour starts at the capital: Beijing city. Upon arrival, your Beijing tour guide will escort you to hotel. Check in and adjust yourself from the jetlag.

    Day 2


    The Forbidden City
    The Corner Tower of the Forbidden City

    Destinations & activities: Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Former Residence of Soong Chin Ling, Hutong rickshaw ride and family visit

    A fresh coffee kicks a good start for your morning.

    Pack up your gear and today you will firstly visit Tian'anmen Square and then the Forbidden City.

    Have lunch in a traditional noolde house and we will get to the Former Residence of Soong Chin Ling, more widely known as the birthplace of China's last emperor Puyi. Get on a rickshaw and the rider will take you into Beijing's beating heart: Hutong. Following up is some quality time with a local family in the Hutong.

    Today you will also have a chance to learn how to spot fake pearls at a time-honored pearl store.


    - Smart Tips:

  • The Corner Tower of the Forbidden City is always a favorite spot for photographers. Spend some time there if the time allows.
  • Today's tour ends up at the Hutong area near Houhai, where you can find a decent place to kick back and enjoy a brisk Beijing night.
  • It takes some nerve to dance in public. But moves don't matter if you got the passion - at least it's so for Chinese dance devotees. Go check out China's national hobby: Square Dance in Beijing!
  • Meals: Breakfast and Chinese Lunch at Jing Mian Da Wang Restaurant


    Day 3


    Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall
    Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall

    Destinations & activities: Temple of Heaven, Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall, a cloisonné factory

    In morning, we will first visit the holy site of Temple of Heaven, where Chinese emperors used to worship God with their sacrifices. Later, drive up to the Great Wall at Mutianyu Section, where you will take a cable car ride up the peak and walk along with your tour guide. Visit a local cloisonné store before lunch.

    In the afternoon, we will be back to the city. Free night for you to thrill.


    - Smart Tips:

  • Don't leave Beijing without a bite of the legendary Peking Duck. Dine like a royalcourt member at Hua's Restaurant.
  • Tired of today's walking and photo-taking? Let's rub it away with a traditional Chinese massage. Your Beijing tour guide sure knows some decent place.
  • If you want to carry on with excitment, a Kungfu Show will be the best bet. Ask your guide for ticket and direction or you can check on our "Solo Adventure!" tag.

    Day 4

    Beijing to Xi'an (Flight No.MU2114 1505 - 1655)

    Destinations & activities: Summer Palace, Garden of Harmonious Virtue, Yonghe Lama Temple, Bird's Nest and Water Cube, and transfer to the airport

    This morning, you will take a relaxing visit at Summer Palace. After a boat trip you will visit the Garden of Harmonious Virtue. Have lunch and following up is the less-visited yet vividly distinctive Yonghe Lama Temple. Have lunc in a restaurant that is famous among the locals.

    We will take a free walk outside the Bird's Nest and Water Cube before the onward flight to Xi'an.

    Check in upon arrival and have a free night in Xi'an.


    - Smart Tips:

  • Nightscape of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is just gorgeous viewed from the Fountain Square. Photo-taking here is rewarding! Take Bus. No 5, 19, 21, 23, 24, 27 or ask your Xi'an tour guide for direction.
  • Meals: Breakfast and Chinese Lunch at Bai Shi Da Restaurant


    Day 5


    Huashan Mountain

    Destinations & activities: Huashan Mountain

    Today you will spend a whole day at the famous Huashan Mountain. Not ideally safe to climb, you will take a cable car up the mountain ridge.

    Mount Hua is known for its sheer cliffs and plunging ravines and blessed with perfect angles for photographers and travelers alike.

    You will be back to Xi'an at the end of the day.

    Day 6

    Xi'an to Chengdu (Flight MU2343 2005 - 2120)

    Destinations & activities: The Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Ancient City Wall, an art center and transfer to the airport

    Finally, you can get a good look at the world wonder: Terracotta Warriors and Horese. Over 8,000 clay warriors of different facial expressions, sizes and body postions were buried down the earth all for the first emperopr Qin Shihuang's wish of immortality.

    After lunch and a stop by an art center, you will be back to the city. Pay a visit at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and get some nice photos of the sunset on the Ancient City Wall.

    At night, you will take a flight to Chengdu. Check in and have a good night to rest.

  • The drive to the Terracotta Warriros and Horses takes about 1 and 1/2 hours depending on the traffic.
  • If you still have some free time to kill, you can try out the Muslim Quarter, where you can eat and take a slice of the daily life of the local folks.
  • Meals: Breakfast and Chinese Lunch at A Wa Shan Zhai Restaurant


    Day 7


    Picturesque China Tour

    Destinations & activities: Panda Breeding and Research Center, Kuanzhai Lane, Wuhou Temple and Shu Brocade Institute and Factory

    This morning we will drive outside the city to the Panda Breeding and Research Center. These cute friends will make you smile all day!

    Drive back to downtown and have lunch. This afternoon, life is gonna get real: your will walk along the Kuanzhai Lane and experience some simple Chengdu life style. Later, you will check out the historical Wuhou Temple. Shu Brocade Institute and Factory will be our last stop for today.

  • If you want to interact with the pandas, please request in advance. Extra cost might apply.
  • For some leisure experience, try ear-picking after a cup of tea. You can find countless tea houses in Chengdu, and we recommend Heming Tea House, which is ranked #3 on Lonely Planet.

    Day 8

    Chengdu to Emei Mountain

    Destinations & activities: Emei Mountain and Baoguo Temple

    This morning, we will drive to the famous Emnei Mountain.

    God blesses the mountain with sweeping cliffs, high reaching peaks and gushing waterfalls, making it an all-time favorite destination for photographers, hikers, climbers and travelers all over the world.

    You will also pay a viist at Baoguo Temple at the mountain. Stay overnight here.

  • The drive to Emei Mountain takes about 2 hours depending on the traffic.

    Day 9

    Leshan to Chengdu, Chengdu to Hangzhou (Flight No. TV9811 1740 - 2020)

    Leshan Giant Buddha
    Leshan Giant Buddha, is carved out on a giant rock of Leshan Mountain, worshiped by many.

    Destinations & activities: Leshan Giant Buddha, transfer to the airport in Chengdu

    The Giant Buddha is a phenomenal masterpiece of manpower that turns the rocks into something people worship. Today you will take a boat trip down the river to get to this statue.

    After lunch, we will be driving to the airport in Chengdu and a flight will take you to the southern of China: Hangzhou.

    Check in upon arrival and sleep tight tonight!

  • The drive to Leshan Mountain takes about 1 hour depending on the traffic.
  • It takes about 2 hours in a good traffic to get to Chengdu from Leshan.

    Day 10

    Hangzhou to Huangshan

    Take a boat trip on the West Lake

    Destinations & activities: West Lake, Lingyin Temple, a tea village, coach to Huangshan

    The biggest draw of Hangzhou must be the scenice West Lake. Today you will enjoy a pleasant boat tirp.

    Pay a visit at the famous Buddhist temple: Lingyin Temple and its Feilai Peak. Spend some time at a tea village before taking a coach to Huangshan.

    Your Huangshan tour guide will pick you up at the bus station and take you to hotel for check-in.

  • Your Hangzhou tour guide will help you get on the coach to Huangshan.
  • The coach takes 2 and 1/2 hours to get to Huangshan.

    Day 11


    Yellow Mountain

    Destinations & activities: Huangshan

    Today you will spend a whole day at Huangshan, aka Yellow Mountain. Have lunch in a restaurant on the top of the mountain.

    Legend has it that Huangdi, the famous Emperor from ancient times, used to live at Huangshan as a supernatural being. Doubtlessly, today you will unfold the legend by yourself.

    Day 12

    Huangshan to Shanghai (Flight No.FM9266 2240 - 2335)

    Destinations & activities: Tunxi Old Street, Hongcun Village and transfer to the airport

    Firstly, you will take a free walk along the Tunxi Old Street, capturing some photos. Ever wonder what the life is like if living in Huangshan? Today you will pay a visit to Hongcun Village. Have lunch in a local restaurant.

    Later today, you will take a flight to Shanghai. Your Shanghai tour guide will escort you to hotel.

    Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at Leigang Restaurant


    Day 13


    Shanghai History Museum
    Wax model of an old cafe back in the 30s of 19th in Shanghai

    Destinations & activities: Oriental Pearl TV Tower, The Bund, Yuyuan Garden, Former French Concession, Tianzifang and a silk factory

    Overlooking the Huangpu River and the Bund, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower is absolutely Shanghai's pride and icon. Today you will be on the top of it, taking in a panoramic. Visit Shanghai History Museum, which is located inside the tower, with a great collection of wax work detailing the history of Shanghai. Take a walk along the Bund and go to have lunch at Home's Restaurant with its artisty atmosphere.

    After a stop at a local silk factory, visit Yuyuan Garden. Later,your Shanghai tour guide will take you on a romantic stroll at the Former French Concession and get to Tianzifang.

  • Enjoy the nightscape by the Bund at the jazz bar of the Peace Hotel.
  • After a walk at the Former French Concession, you can go to dinner at the famous dim sum restaurant Din Tai Fung Restaurant. Find its info on our tag or ask your Shanghai tour guide for direction.

    Shanghai Departure (Flight not included)

    Destinations & activities: Hotel to airport transfer (Shanghai Pudong International Airport)

    You will be transferred to the city’s international airport (Shanghai Pudong International Airport) in time for your flight home.
