Day 1

Shanghai Arrival (Flight not Included)

Destinations & activities: Airport - hotel transfer

Welcome to China! Shanghai is your arrival destination. Check in hotel upon arrival.

  • If you want to get around after check-in, ask your Shanghai tour guide for directions first.
  • It needs 20 days to process Tibet Travel Permit. China Travel kindly suggests you confirm your tour at least 30 days ahead of time.

    Day 2


    Oriental Pearl TV Tower
    The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is Shanghais lan#100;mark

    Destinations & activities: The Bund, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, with Shanghai History Museum inside, Former French Concession, Tianzifang, Xintiandi and a silk store

    Kick start a bright day with a cup of hot coffee. The Bund is our first stop. Later visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Inside the tower, Shanghai History Museum offers an informative visit with its wax work display.

    After lunch, your Shanghai tour guide will introduce the historical standing of the Former French Concession while walking the shady pavement. Get to the colorful world at Tianzifang and Xintiandi. Visit a silk store to learn the process of silk.

    Shanghai to Hangzhou (By High Speed Train No.G7309)

    Sit on the bench by the lakeside, West Lake, Hangzhou
    Destinations & activities: Hotel - train station transfer, West Lake and Meijiawu Tea Village

    This morning, you will spend some free time in Shanghai. At noon, take a high speed train to Hangzhou. Check in upon arrival.

    Have lunch before we go for a boat trip in the beautiful West Lake. Later, you will walk on Meijiawu Tea Village, learning how the tea is planted and cooked.

    Enjoy a free morning in Hangzhou.

    You will take an afternoon flight to Chengdu. Check in upon arrival.

    Destinations & activities: Panda Breeding and Research Center, Wide and Narrow Lanes, Wuhou Temple and Shu Brocade Institute and Factory

    Chengdu is home to the giant pandas. Today your Chengdu tour guide will take the group to the Panda Breeding and Research Center. Look at these cute babies playing, rolling, climbing and eating, don't you just love them?!

    Have lunch and get back to Chengdu. Get into the Wide and Narrow Lanes, aka Kuanzhai Xiangzi, learning about Chengdu local's daily life. Later, visit a traditional temple: Wuhou Temple. Last, you will visit the Shu Brocade Institute and Factory to learn about the delicate Shu embroidery art.

    Day 6

    Chengdu to Lhasa (Flight No.TBA)

    Destinations & activities: Airport - hotel transfer, free time in Lhasa

    After breakfast, you will be flying to Lhasa. Check in upon arrival and you will have some free time.

  • Allow yourself to adjust to the altitude change. Let your Lhasa tour guide know if you don't feel well.
  • Foreign travelers are not allowed to travel without a guide in Lhasa, but getting around the neighborhood for just a couple of hours won't be a problem.
  • Tianhai Night Market is a famous night market, located in Minzu Road of the western suburb of the city.

    Day 7


    Sera Monastery

    Destinations & activities: Jokhang Temple, Sera Monastery and Barkhor Street

    Today, you will visit the highlights of Lhasa. Firstly, visit the famous Jokhang Temple. Later, get to the Sera Monastery, learning the daily life of monks in Tibet.

    Afternoon, your Lhasa tour guide will lead your way in a free stroll in Barkhor Street.

  • Tibetan carpet, Thangka(a painted or embroidered banner), Tibetan fresco painting, butter sculptures and other stuff can be found in Barkhor Street, which can be something nice to bring home.

    Potala Palace

    Destinations & activities: Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery and Tibet Medical and Astrological Institute

    After breakfast, you will go to the majestic Potala Palace. A visit to Drepung Monastery helps you find out. This monastery used to be home for Dalai Lamas before Potala Palace.

    In the afternoon, you will go to Tibet Medical and Astrological Institute for an informative chance to learn about Tibetan medicine.

    Day 9

    Lhasa to Xi'an (Flight No.TBA)

    Destinations & activities: Hotel - airport transfer, Free time in Xi'an

    Today you will have some free time in Lhasa before the flight to Xi'an. Check in upon arrival and enjoy some leisure time.

    Day 10

    Xi'an to Beijing (By Overnight Train No.Z20)

    Destinations & activities: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Fountain Square and a handicraft center, hotel - train station transfer

    After breakfast, you will visit the wonder of ancient China: Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Have lunch before a walk at a handicraft center.

    In the afternoon, you will be back to Xi'an downtown, your Xi'an tour guide will take your group for a free walk on the Fountain Square, where you can get a nice look at the famous Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

    At night, you will take an overnight train to Beijing. Enjoy the ride!

    Day 11


    Kungfu Show
    Enjoy an awesome Kungfu Show
    Destinations & activities: Train station - hotel transfer, Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Guozijian (Imperial College) and a Kungfu Show

    Arrive in Beijing in the early morning, you will be taken to hotel for check-in and simple breakfast.

    Walk on the vast Tian'anmen Square before approaching to the Forbidden City. In the Forbidden City, you will visit the Palace of Heavenly Purity, Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Mental Cultivation and Royal Garden.

    Have lunch and visit Guozijian, aka the Imperial College.

    At night, your Beijing tour guide will take your group to a Kungfu Show. Get yourself awed!

    Day 12


    Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall

    Destinations & activities: The Temple of Heaven, Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall and a cloisonné factory

    Temple of Heaven has an important stand in both China's history and culture. This morning, your Beijing tour guide will lead your way at this site before the drive to the Great Wall.

    There are several sections of the Great Wall and we select the most enjoyable one for your visit: Mutianyu Section. You will take an uphill cable car ride and an exciting slide-way ride downhill.

    Near the Great Wall, you will visit an interesting cloisonné factory to learn about the process.

    Drive back to downtown Beijing and relax.

    In the morning, you will walk in the beautiful Summer Palace. Inside the Summer Palace, your Beijing tour guide will take you to an interesting street Suzhou Street. A copy of the commercial streets in the Qing Dynasty, you can see how people trade and make living 200 years ago. Have lunch.

    In the afternoon, you will go for a free walk outside Bird's Nest and Water Cube.

    Day 14

    Beijing Departure (Flight not Included)

    Destinations & activities: Hotel - airport transfer

    Today is the last day for your China holiday. Your Beijing tour guide will escort the group to the airport.
