Day by Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Hong Kong to Chengdu (Flight CA6502 1045-1330)

Destinations & activities: Airport transfer

Today our Hong Kong tour guide will escort you to the airport. A flight will take you to Chengdu. Check in upon arrival.

    Day 2


    Hong Kong to Yangtze River

    Destinations & activities: Panda Breeding and Research Center, Kuanzhai Lane, Wuhou Temple and Shu Brocade Institute and Factory

    This morning we will drive outside the city to the Panda Breeding and Research Center. These cute friends will make you smile all day!

    Drive back to downtown and have lunch. This afternoon, life is gonna get real: your will walk along the Kuanzhai Lane and experience some simple Chengdu life style. Later, you will check out the historical Wuhou Temple. Shu Brocade Institute and Factory will be our last stop for today.


    - Smart Tips:

  • If you want to interact with the pandas, please request in advance. Extra cost might apply.
  • For some leisure experience, try ear-picking after a cup of tea. You can find countless tea houses in Chengdu, and we recommend Heming Tea House, which is ranked #3 on Lonely Planet.

    Day 3

    Chengdu to Chongqing (High Speed Train D5110 1117-1348)

    Destinations & activities: Train station transfer and transfer to the pier

    Today you will take a high speed train to Chongqing.

    Arrive in Chongqing in the afternoon. At the evening, our local tour guide will escort you to the pier. Board on your Yangtze River cruise and enjoy the night!

  • Embark time for the cruise is 9:00pm and our tour guide will get you to the pier ahead of time.

    Day 4

    Yangtze River Cruise

    Destinations & activities: Welcome banquet, dance party, shore excursion to Shibaozhai; Fengdu Ghost City (Optional upon request)

    Waking up in the wave sound of the Yangtze River, you will embrace the morning of nature. Today you will take a short visit to Shibaozhai. Shibaozhai, literally meaning Stone Treasure Fortress, and its riverside location is what allows the historic hill site much of its beauty. The sheer vertical cliffs below it stand more than 56 meters tall, thus creating much curiosity over the centuries. The red pavilion found there was first built in 1750 during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) and has since been restored. Inside, visitors can see many interesting artifacts since each of the 12 floors is dedicated to a famous general from the Three Kingdoms Period (220-265), a local scholar, or a known Chinese poet.

    Day 5

    Yangtze River Cruise

    Destinations & activities: Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, Shennong Stream, crew performance

    On your spectacular Yangtze River cruise today, the first gorge of the day will be Qutang Gorge and then later pass through Wu Gorge. After lunch, you will have the chance to go on land to visit Shennong Stream, a tributary of the Yangtze River. It is a dramatic piece of natural beauty with water rushing past karst caves, vertical cliffs, numerous waterfalls, three-colored springs, an ancient plank path, and much more. As well, there is an option to visit the White Emperor City, also known as Baidi city (price not included).

    The crew will later put on a performance for your entertainment, and the vessel will sail through the 5-step ship locks, bringing you back to Yangtze.

    White Emperor City is an option upon your request. Please inform the crew if you'd visit it. Cost will be on your own.

    Day 6

    Yichang to Xi'an

    After visit the imposing site of Three Gorges Dam, we will fly to Xi'an

    Check in hotel and enjoy the rest of today at leisure.

    Hong Kong to Yangtze River

    Destinations & activities: Muslim Quarter, Great Mosque, Ancient City Wall and Shaanxi History Museum

    After breakfast in hotel, we will visit Xi'an city highlights including Muslim Quarter, Great Mosque, Ancient City Wall and Shaanxi History Museum

    Destinations & activities: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda a handicraft center

    After breakfast, our Xi'an tour guide will take you the wonder of ancient China: Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Have lunch and stop by at a handicraft center.

    In the afternoon, you will be back to Xi'an downtown, waiting is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the oldest Buddhism temples in China.

    Day 9

    Xi'an to Beijing (Flight HU7138 1040 - 1235)

    Today you will fly to Beijing. Chekc in upon arrival.

    This afternoon, we will visit Summer Palace. Later, take a free stroll outside Bird's Nest and Water Cube.

    Day 10


    Forbidden City

    Destinations & activities: Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Former Residence of Soong Chin Ling, Hutong rickshaw ride and family visit

    A fresh coffee kicks a good start for your morning.

    Today you will firstly visit Tian'anmen Square and then the Forbidden City.

    Have lunch and we will get to the Former Residence of Soong Chin Ling, more widely known as the birthplace of China's last emperor Puyi. Get on a rickshaw and the rider will take you into Beijing's beating heart: Hutong. Following up is some quality time with a local family in the Hutong.

    Today you will also have a chance to learn how to spot fake pearls at a time-honored pearl store.


    - Smart Tips:

  • The Corner Tower of the Forbidden City is always a favorite spot for photographers. Spend some time there if the time allows.
  • Today's tour ends up at the Hutong area near Houhai, where you can find a decent place to kick back and enjoy a brisk Beijing night.
  • It takes some nerve to dance in public. But moves don't matter if you got the passion - at least it's so for Chinese dance devotees. Go check out China's national hobby: Square Dance in Beijing!

    Day 11


    Great Wall
    Badaling Section of the Great Wall in China

    Destinations & activities: Temple of Heaven, Badaling Section of the Great Wall

    In morning, we will first visit the holy site of Temple of Heaven, where Chinese emperors used to worship God with their sacrifices. Later, drive up to the Great Wall at Badaling Section, where you will take a cable car ride up the peak and walk along with your tour guide. Have lunch and we will drive back to Beijing.

    In the afternoon, we will be back to the city. Free night for you to thrill.

  • Don't leave Beijing without a bite of the legendary Peking Duck. Dine like a royalcourt member at Hua's Restaurant.
  • Tired of today's walking and photo-taking? Let's rub it away with a traditional Chinese massage. Your Beijing tour guide sure knows some decent place.
