Guangxi to Host the 6th National Jasmine Tea Trade Fair

Published by  go2c at 2009/7/30;

The home of Chinese jasmine tea will be hosting the 6th National Jasmine Tea Trade Fair from August 15 to 16. Hengxian, a county in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, is holding the fair in an attempt to popularize its local product abroad, according to a press conference held by the Hengxian People’s Government.

Hengxian is located near Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The county has a 400-year history of growing jasmine, with 100,000 mu of jasmine fields and an annual output reaching 80,000 tons. The output makes up over 80% of the total production in China and 60% in the world.

The fair, with the theme “Standardization and Internationalization”, offers a platform for participants to build trade partnerships and facilitate the global jasmine tea trade.

The two-day event will feature several activities, including the Hengxian Investment and Trade Symposium, an international conference on the jasmine tea industry and the Rural Food Festival.

"Make Scented Tea Go Global—Let The World Discover Hengxian" is the county’s goal. Rapidly playing a growing role in the global tea market, Hengxian has become the largest domestic production base for the jasmine tea industry, with close to 180 tea factories and an advanced jasmine tea distribution system.
