China Danxia landform listed in the World Heritage List

On August 2nd, 2010, news came from the 34th World Heritage Convention that the proposal of Chinese Danxia which was applied by six Danxia spots was included in the World Heritage List. Especially Danxia of Chishui, which enjoys the fame as “the crown of Danxia” was reported and observed by the media at home and abroad. Some experts said that the success of applying for the world heritage by Danxia of Chishui will make Chishui more famous and extend its influence all over the world. And it will bring along the prosperity of the tourist markets of Northern Guizhon.

It was said that Danxia of Chishui is the largest among the other Chinese Danxia landform. Its abundant rainfall and the unique natural conditions made Danxia of Chishui a place with thousands of waterfalls. Before applying for the World Heritage, Shizhangdong Waterfall was regarded as the No.1 waterfall of Danxia which attracted a number of tourists at home and abroad.

Danxia landform of Chishui is noted for its sheer peaks,bright red cliffs, soaring pinnacle, grotesque rocks,ancient caves,cascading waterfalls,stone-bar, flowing springs and verdant trees, Which have high ornamental value. Fair sunshine comes after rain. The sun presses down on the rock, making the red rock exceptionally beautiful.
