On June 29th, 2011, from 8:00 to 10:30, a half marathon invitational tournament kicked off in Guilin, which is the first marathon tournament held in Guilin.

The events include a half marathon for professional male and female athletes (21.0975 kilometers), a half marathon for amateur male and female players (21.0975 kilometers) and a marathon for amateur male and female players (10 kilometers and 5 kilometers). For participants, the professional athletes are mainly from sports schools and the amateur players are mainly selected from some travel agencies of Guilin.
