Print CommentAccording to the Tibet Autonomous Region Tourism Administration, 2.2 million people visited Tibet in total in the first half of 2011, an increase of nearly 25 percent compared with the same period in last year.
The number of travelers to the Jokhang Temple has been increasing daily since Tibet entered tourist season. At present, more than 3,000 people have visited the Jokhang Temple this year. The Jokhang Temple adopted a measure that allows visitors to book tickets one day in advance starting from July 31.
At the moment, more than 60 flights operate daily in Lhasa Gonggar Airport and 62 flights operate every week in Nyingchi Airport, Qamdo Bangda Airport and Xigaze Peace Airport. Meanwhile, 10 trains come and go from Tibet daily along with people coming by buses and private cars, bringing a total of 10,000 visitors to Tibet every day.
