Print CommentOn August 31, 2011, Liver River in Guilin was listed as one of the world’s most beautiful national parks by Forbes. The list came out thanks to adventure travel writer Matt Villano, the expert of national parks Jack Ezon and president of luxury travel company Ovation Vacations.
According to Forbes, Guilin’s Li River (watch video) was described as the following: “Located in southeastern China, this park (named Guilin Li River National Park) is renowned for its karsts, limestone cones, cylinders and hills with colorful names like “Elephant Trunk,” “Dragon Head” and “Five Fingers”; these have inspired countless Chinese poets and artists and even been depicted on the country’s paper currency. The best way to drink in this breathtaking scenery is to take a 30-mile boat trip along the Lijiang River (namely Li River), from Guilin to Yangshuo.”
