The 28th Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival will kick off on January 5th, 2012, with the theme of the impassioned and beautiful city, highlighting internationality, participation, experience and artistic appreciation. The 2012 Ice and Snow Festival will become more international by adding a number of participation activities, such as ice-snow fashion show and ice-snow talent show.

At the opening ceremony, there will be ice-snow live performance presenting the characteristic beauty of the ice city. After the opening ceremony, artistic activities, cultural activities, sports activities, trade activities and tourism activities of ice and snow will provide participants with an opportunity to enjoy themselves.

In the past few years, Harbin International Ice and Snow Festivals focused on night amusement. In the 28th ice-snow festival, besides enriching night activities, there will be various activities and performances in the daytime, attracting tourists to visit during day, aiming to create a topflight scenic spot which integrates entertainment, interaction and artistic view.

The snow sculpture fair during the festival is themed by snow Russia and affectionate Sun Island, embodying Russian culture elements. The Ice Lantern Show during the ice-snow festival aiming to create topflight ice lantern and ice sculpture arts, with the theme of ice and snow beauty spreading around the world.
