From December 15th, 2011, direct flights from Beijing to Lhasa operated, with the flight number of CA4125/6, which are the first direct scheduled flights between Beijing and Lhasa.

The flights operate every day, taking about 4 hours for a single trip. The flight departs at 8:05 from Beijing Capital International Airport, and arrives in Lhasa Gonggar Airport at about 12:25. Then the flight operates back from Lhasa at 13:15, and arrives in Beijing at 17:05. During peak tourist season, the aircraft A330 which can carry more passengers will operate from Beijing to Lhasa.
