2008 Olympic Torch Relay to kick off in Guilin on June 6th

The Olympic Torch Relay will kick off in Guilin on June 6th, the famous tourist city in southwest China’s Guangxi Province.

The leg of Guilin Olympic torch Relay will start at the Jiatianxia Square 8:30am and to be made a conclusion at Guilin Sports Center at 11:30am.

The specific rout is: Jiatianxia Square----Guilin International Trade and Exhibition Center----Longyin Road----Chuanshan Road----Jiefang Bridge----the Cross Street----Guilin Machine Tool Co. Ltd.----Yiwu Road----the Government Building of Xiufeng District----Jiefang Bridge----Binjiang Road----Elephant Hill Park---- Air Plaza Hotel (Minhang Hotel)----Li River Bridge----Guilin Sports Center

Vehicles except Public transport and the cars to be used in the torch relay activities are not allowed to enter Guilin city; therefore it’s better for visitors to choose the Public Transport.

If the visitors living in the hotels located on the torch relay route want to visit other places, they should leave the hotel before 7:30am, because the road will be shut after 7:30am. These hotels include Guilin Lijiang Waterfall Hotel, Air Plaza Hotel (the Minhang Hotel), the Hotel Universal Guilin, Guilin Plaza, Guilin Park Hotel, Golden Elephant Hotel, Golden Dragon Hotel and Wenhua Grand Hotel.
