Aviation tests were successfully held in Daocheng-Yading Airport on September 10th in 2012. Based on a local travel agency in Chengdu, the trial process will be in December in 2012 and Daocheng-Yading Airport will be in operation next year.
A bumpy coach is the only choice to contact with the outside world. However, Daocheng-Yading Airport- the highest civilian airport in the world will change the traffic inconvenience by cutting down an about 13-hour journey into one hour.
With incomparable autumn scenery in the world, Daocheng-Yading lies on the border of Sichuan Province and belongs to Gantse Tibetan Prefecture. Hiking from Lugu Lake in Yunnan to Daocheng-Yading comes into more and more travelers’ tour list. It also enjoys a good reputation of “the last Shangri-La”.
