Shanghai Expo float to take part in Rose Parade near Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Two Chinese-American groups in Los Angeles will jointly sponsor a float to promote Shanghai World Expo 2010 in the upcoming Rose Parade New Year celebration, it was announced here Tuesday.

Water shortage problems eased by new plants in Shanghai

A new water plant came into service yesterday which will help ease problems of shortages mainly in Minhang District over the summer peak period.

 

The Yuanjiang Water Plant, in the district's Maqiao Town, will initially produce 300,000 cubic meters of water a day to households in the district, said Zhou Daohong of the state-owned Shanghai Chengtou Corporation.
