Worst train experience in China

I'm an Australian who has been living in China for 3n1/2 years. Most times when I travel to other cities I take the train.

I have only done the hard seat journey once and it's something I hope never to repeat! I took the 24hr train from Hong Kong to Beijing, no beds were available and I was meeting my friend at the airport the next morning.

Unforgettable experience on the train back to Guilin (1) by Michael

After the Spring Festival Holiday, I had to go back to Guilin for work. My home town is far from Guilin. It is 12 hours by train. Even though I bought my train ticket 11 days before departure, the seat was still not available. That means; I may need to stand on the train for 12 hours. That’s really terrible.
