Temple Fair of Mt.Jiuhua was originated in Tang dynasty. At the end of Kaiyuan, Tang dynasty, Xinluo dignitary JinQiaojue came to Mt.Jiuhua in order to explore the historical site for worship for Dizang. He cultivated arduously for 75 years and died at the age of 99. After death, his flesh didn’t rot. His bones, when shaken, rang like gold locks. People in later generations, according to the Buddhist scriptures, thought that JinQiaojue was the reincarnation of Ksitigarbha idol and adorably regarded him as the golden Ksitigarbha and worshipped him by building flesh body tower in Shenguangling. July, 30th of lunar year is the death day of JinQiaojue. Whenever it comes, the pilgrims from everywhere will come to Mt.Jiuhua to burn incense and worship in the tower. Day by day, the village people around here, peddlers and folk craftsmen gathered here to make big deals at this opportunity. From then on, Temple Fair of Mt,Jiuhua gradually formed. By the end of 2005, it has successfully held 23 sessions.
