I visited Yunna last year and was fascinated by the area's pure and unique natural scenery and ancient ethnic culture. We stayed one day in kunming, capital of Yunnan Province. Kunming does not have many interesting things to offer. The city itself is very dull, big, overcrowded, similar to many of the other cities you may have visited in China. Two attractions may be worht your visit are the west hill, holding an impressive collection of Buddhsim grottos, caves, and the Stone Forest. We took a afternoon bus from Kunming to Dali. The journey took around 7 hours. Scenery on the way was fine. But be aware of the tourist trap on your way. The bus drivers would stop the bus at a shopping area. You are not allowed to stay within the bus when the bus is stopping there. very irritating.

I would suggest you go to Lijiang and Dali.
