Best Time to Visit
The tourist peak season of Dalian is from late May when Dalian Chinese Scholar Tree Blossom Affairs and Dalian Export Commodity Fair are held. It ends up in early September when Dalian International Fashion Festival is held. During this period (late May to early September), Dalian is crowded with visitors from home and abroad. September and October are the best periods for seaside angling in Dalian. In winter, ice lantern fairs are held in Bingyugou valley.

The hottest month is August with the average temperature of 24℃, and the coldest month is January with the average temperature of -5℃. The minimum temperature may reach about -21℃. Most of the rainfall concentrates in summer.
Winter lasts from late November to early March in Dalian with the minimum temperature of -14 to -17℃. Visitors need to bring down jackets, sweaters, gloves, pants, cotton trousers and cotton trousers to keep warm. Spring lasts from March to May in Dalian with the average temperature of 15℃. Wearing jackets, sweaters, long-sleeved T-shirts and pants is necessary in spring. Summer lasts from June to September in Dalian with the highest temperature of 30 to 32℃.
