Loutian Village

Loutian Village is the birthplace of Zhou Dunyi who used to be the famous originator of Confucianism of the Song Dynasty. At present, there are 268 households, and the village boasts rich historical and cultural relics and ancient customs. Loutian Village has been classified as a scenic spot and historic and cultural village by Hunan Province.

Loutian Village has a long history of thousands of years. The ancient dwellings of primitive simplicity within the village are well preserved. In the village, everything is characterized by the history and culture of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, no matter an alley or an eave. The village boasts rich human and natural landscape, including queer peaks, secluded caves, clear springs, lotus pond, pines, bamboos, the tower and stone inscriptions.
