Datong Night Market, Datong

The Datong Night Market is in the Red Flag Square of Datong City, Shanxi. It is considered to be the largest and most famous night market in the city. Like most night markets in China, the local businesses and vendors there begin opening at around 7 p.m. Crowds reach their peak between 8 and 11 p.m. generally, it end its businesses at around 1 to 2 a.m. of the next morning At night, many venders, peddlers and snack sellers set up their booths along the narrow streets to sell some small but interesting things and foods to people. The venders sell specialties like traditional hand-made fans, local tea, shadow puppets, and snacks and so on. There are many tea houses where visitors can relax, have a cup of tea, and chat with their friends. The snack venders along the streets sell local delicious cuisines, which attracts many tourists from all over the country.
