Dongguan City is located in the middle south of Guang Dong Province, adjacent to the South China Sea. In as much as it is situated on the northeast side the Pearl River Delta area, it is greatly affected by oceanic and continental climate. It enjoys tropical and subtropical monsoon climate with mild heat and ample rainfall, and an average annual temperature of 22.1 degrees Celsius. It is usually sunny and warm in winter and rainy in spring and summer. Autumn is mostly sunny and cool, suitable for outdoor activities.
The best time to visit Dongguan is September and October.
Rainstorm and typhoon are the main facts affecting the mild climate of Dongguan which occur mostly from June to October every year. A visit to Dongguan during this time should pay attention to the pre-caution warnings from radio, TV and newspaper.
