It is a national natural reserve occupying an area of 45 Km2 , among which 10.2 Km2 is covered by lake, thus becoming the ideal habitat for relict gull, an endangered species in the world that is under first class national protection. Other species under national protection like wild goose, orient white goose, etc also choose to stay here. The abundant landscapes, vegetations and local traditions and customs also add color to this tourist area.

It is suggested that the visitors coming from Hohhot and Baotou to take a bus or train to Ordos South Bus Station, and then take the tourism bus directly to the scenic spot.
