In November, it becomes cold in many areas of China, especially in North China. The snowfall starts to appear in North China, with the temperature ranges from -1 to 10 ºC in Beijing. In South and Central China, the weather is favorable with comfortable temperature, with the temperature ranging from 16 to 24 ºC in Guangzhou. November marks the beginning of winter and it’s suitable for traveling in China thanks to the few crowds and relatively comfortable weather condition.

North: It becomes very cold, especially at the end of November. Thus, warm clothes, such as down coats, thick sweaters, thermal underwear and scarf are necessary.

Central: Due to the cold and windy weather, woolen wears and thick cotton-padded jackets are recommended.

South: It’s generally warm during daytime and a little bit cold in the evening. The weather is very changeable, bad weather may attack. Thus, bringing light coats and warm clothes is advisable.

1. There are no public holidays in November in China, thus, the popular tourist attractions are not so crowded and good discounts on hotels and flight or train tickets can be got, providing preferential prices for travelers.

2. Though it’s the beginning of winter, the weather in South and Central China are relatively temperate, which is suitable for traveling.

TOPLongmen Grottoes of Luoyang

Longmen Grottoes, as famous World Cultural Heritage, are ranked as China’s greatest treasure-house of carving art of imperial family. Longmen Grottoes were built around 493 A.D., whose construction lasted for 0ver 400 years and covered a few dynasties, including Western Wei, Eastern Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, Tang and the period of Five Dynasties and Ten States. At present, according to statistics, in the 1,000-meter-long scenic area, there are over 70 pagodas and more than 100,000 statues in over 2000 caves, showing various carving styles and different appreciations of beauty in different periods of time.

Opening Time: In Spring, Summer and Autumn: from 7:00 to 18:30

In winter: from 7:00 to 17:30

How to get there: Special bus lines for tourists like No.81, No. 53, No. 60 can take you from Luoyang Railway Station within 40 minutes.

TOPMt. Huang (Yellow Mountain)

Yellow Mountain, located in the south of the scenic Anhui Province, is ranked as one of China’s best-known mountainous beauty spots, due to its majesty, ruggedness, cloud, flying waterfall, bizarre rock and breathtaking beauty, including oddly-shaped pines, grotesque rocks, the sea of clouds and hot springs. There are 77 peaks that are over one thousand meters. Yellow Mountain is blessed with a variety of scenery varying in seasons. Besides, it boasts dense forests, with an forest coverage of 86.6%.  There are about 1,500 species of plants and over 500 species of animals. In 1990, Yellow Mountain was ranked in the list of "Human Natural Heritage protected in the world" by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

TOPMt. Putuo

Mt. Putuo, as the national key scenic spot, is also one of the four sacred Buddhist Mountains in China. It is blessed with a number of temples, including 3 main temples and 88 monasteries. It is also home to the most famous Guanyin Temple in all over China (Guanyin is the Goddess of Mercy and the patron saint). As Mt. Putuo is located on Putuo Island, it boasts both long Buddhist culture and plentiful island scenery. It is reputed as “the quietest place in the world” by ancients.

In November, when most areas of North China begin to become cold, the weather in Guangzhou is still very pleasant. Guangzhou is celebrated as “Flower City”, with various kinds of flowers in full bloom all year round, such as Michelia longifolia, Osmanthus fragrance, Michelia fuscata, lily, Aglaia odorata, Gladiolus hybridus, Chrysanthemum, and Oval kumquat. In addition, Guangzhou boasts a number of scenic spots that are worthwhile to visit, such as Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall, Baiyun Mountain, Yuexiu Mountain, Litchi Bay, Guangxiao Tower, Guang Tower, Hongling Sunrise and Yuexiu Overlooking. Thus, traveling to Guangzhou in November is a good choice.
