Make sure you get to the correct station
In some cities, there are 2 or several train stations, which are distant from each other. Before you start, please make sure from which station you are going to board the train. If you get to the wrong station, you probably wont have enough time to catch the train.
It is suggested that you get to the train station at least 30 minutes before ..» View details about China Train Travel Tips

- "Where and when can I book train?"

Hi, We are four girls arriving at Guangzhou from Fuzhou at the 26th of september. We would like to go to Sanya by train on the 27th of september (the night train that arrives the 28th). Where and when can I book the train tickets?

I live in Wuhan and have found many different answers to the question of booking train tickets. When I was in Guangzhou last week it was crazy trying to buy a ticket at the station, they wouldn't let me purchase a ticket more than 5 days in advance even though all the tickets up til then were sold out ;P In most cities you can find ticket sellers, we have 2 within 10min of where I live so hopefully your hotel in Fuzhou can tell you where to find one or the hotel might be able to help you get the ticket. The ticket system used to be a bit silly, only letting you buy from where you are to another place but it is getting better and in most medium - large cities you can get tickets to n from other medium-large cities. Hope that's helpful

Hi, the train tickets are usually sold four days before the train's departure date in most cities.

Hi, We already have to fly like 7 times during our month of vaccation, and the only reason why we are going to Guangzhou, is for the experience and pleasure off riding a night train to Sanya and wake up to the sight of beautiful China. Therefore we will do our very best to get a softsleeper ticket. So my question is: Is it possible to buy the ticket in Fuzhou 10 days in advance or is it only possible to purchase a ticket on the trainstation in Guangzhou?

Hi, as Chinees national holidays falls from Octber, there will be numerous Chinese people traveling during that period. Thus, it's quite difficult to get the train tickets before and after the national holiday period. Thus, we don't provide booking train ticketrs during that period. I advise you to travel by flight: http://www.chinatravel.com/china-flights/

Hi, I am _, I have contributed _ times on China Travel this month...

Are we able to book all seats in a 4-berth sleeper even if we are only 2 people, for privacy.Diana
Yes, but you should ask the ticket officer to arrange you in the same cabine. Because they usually arrange yout berth by radom.
I think this is a very helpful article and the descriptions are accurate for each class. I guess I'd just like to say that if people are up for adventure then the hard sleeper carriages are great! You get to meet lots of people and see a bit more culture. I don't speak very much Chinese but I still enjoy having a go, I pull out my phrase book and the people in my carriage have a lot of fun trying to communicate with me ;)
Yeah! That's true that in the hard sleeper carriages we can meet more people and know much more. And that is the very meaning of traveling! It seems that you have been to many places of China. Why not continue to share them? They are interesting!!

I tried to book 2 train ticket to Datong from Beijing and it seems like the option is very limited. K1114/K1111 with 02:49-09:03, does this mean it departed Beijing at 2:49 am and arrive at Datong 9:03 am the next day? Amanda
Yes, it is departed at 2:49 am and will arrive at 9:03 am the same day. (Totally last about 6.5 hours )
The same day, not next day.
