Luoyang Peony Fair

Peony flower, many of which have large, double blooms and are quite fragrant.This well-know flower has been residing in Luoyang , in centural ChinaHebeiProvince for more than a thousand years. It always represents elegance and poise and becomes China national flower. With various varieties and marvelous colors, the Luoyang Peony enjoys the honor of "King of the FlowerKingdom" and "Luoyang Peony Ranking the First under Heaven". Throughout the city, you can see all kinds of peonies with colors ranging from red, pink and white to the rarest dark.

The flowers will continue to blossom from late March till mid-May, and visitors during this period will be able to appreciate Luoyang's renowned peonies.

Since 1983,the first peony fair was staged in Luoyang and during the last more two decades, 23 fairs has been held here in April each year. During the 10-day event, nearly 1.8 million tourists from both at home and abroad flocked to every park and square in the city to view the sea of beautiful flowers.

In addition to displaying peonies, the fair also organized a variety of economic activities. Thevarious trade fairs attracted businessman from 12 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, Russia, Singapore and Hong Kong .It brings the city a booming foreign-oriented economy while giving a push to its tourism industry as well.
