Dragon Boat Race

A dragon boat ( 龙舟in Chinese) is a very long and narrow paddle boat. For racing events, dragon boats are rigged with a decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails. Dragon boats vary in size.

Each race team usually consists of 22 members including 20 paddlers, one steerer and one drummer. During the dragon boat racing the paddlers sit in pairs, facing forward, the drummer sits at the prow facing toward the paddlers and the steerer sits at the rear of the boat.
