World Expo 2010 Shanghai will be a grand and festive occasion in the long and glorious tradition of the World Exposition, though we here in Shanghai will of course do our best to push the envelope, as Beijingers recently did with the Olympic Games. Shanghai Expo will reflect Shanghai's own journey over the course of the past 15 years, where the city one sees today.

The site of the Shanghai World Expo is located on both sides of the Huangpu River, in the districts of Pudong (meaning east of the Huangpu) and Puxi (meaning west of the Huangpu). It covers a total area of 5.28 square kilometers, with 3.93 sq km in Pudong and 1.35 sq km in Puxi.
