The restaurants and stalls in Luzhi serve local Chinese fare that can also appeal to the Western palate. Besides the usual Chinese (and Jiangsu) dishes, one can find certain specialties specific to Suzhou's water towns, such as trotters (pigs feet). Luzhi has its own trotters variant, as well as its variant of Peking Duck and a special radish dish. To enumerate them, they are:

Both Puli Trotters and Puli Duck are reputed to be recipes from the hand of "Mr. Puli" himself, Lu Guimeng. Luzhi Radish Dish is pickled radishes that are prepared according to a Qing Dynasty recipe. It is said that Lu Guimeng was fond of serving both Puli Trotters and Puli Duck to his closest friends, though this may have stemmed from the period before the poet and agrarian swore off wine.

There are many long-distance buses that arrive in Luzhi. These depart from either Shanghai or Suzhou (Luzhi lies near the main expressway, the G2 Jinghu Expy, between Shanghai and Suzhou). There is also a local bus from Tongli Water Town to Luzhi (none from Zhouzhang Water Town). » more
