With the opening of the West Village Scenic Area, three high-level hotels, an inn and traditional home-like accommodation with water town characteristics have been built. The furnishings and décor are carefully chosen for elegance and style and the service is high quality. The price is rather high however.
The home-like accommodation in West Village is located in the double-storey old houses along the West Village streets. The location and style of each house is different. Some of them are beside the river; some of them are beside the street; some have waterside balconies. Each home-like unit has got a number, 65 in total. Each house is managed by a landlord, with 4-6 guest rooms. The landlord cooks meals in the living room below. The decor of each house is different, with modern facilities provided in traditional form. The landlords are friendly and good at cooking, the price of which is moderate. Home number 50 is recommended: the waterside courtyard is just outside and the waterway is below the rooms. The old post office is on the opposite side of the street.
The three hotels of West Village are Jintang Hotel, Hengyitang (Health & Longevity) Hotel and Shengting Hotel. All of them are luxurious hotels hiding among the ancient houses and streets. Jintang Hotel is the largest and most luxurious one of the three. The facilities here are 5A standard. Hengyitang(Health & Longevity) Club is a typical garden building of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, with herbal cuisine rooms. The building of Shengting Hotel is converted from the house of a rich family with a history of a hundred years. There are facilities like a tea bar and café inside.
Ziteng Youth Hostel is in Wuzhen’s West Village, with its back facing the “water stage”, a very scenic spot. In front of the hostel there are Yidasihao workshop and Shitian Square. The hotel has a public kitchen, wash rooms, air-conditioning and hot water. The bunks in the room are the same as that of a students’ dormitory (with upper bunk and lower bunk). Price: 60 yuan/bunk.
